Ukodhiko Honored with Isoko Youths Merit Award At Fred Obe Day Celebration
…calls for support Gov Oborevwori
Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Wedy, bagged the Isoko Youths (Patriots) Merit Award by the Isoko National Youth Assembly, INYA, during the celebration of the birth anniversary of former Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Chief Fred Obe.
The award recognizing the House of Representatives member’s contribution as a patriot and defender of the Interests of Isoko ethnic nation, was given at the Second Edition of the “Fred Obe Day”, held at Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area.
Hon. Ukodhiko, in a goodwill message extolled the founder and grand patron of the Isoko National Youth Assembly who he described as an “icon and a living legend”.
He said, “We are here to celebrate an icon of the Isokonation. Chief Barrister Fred Fred Obe is a likeable personality. Chief Obe thinks about the progress and unification of Isoko.
“When things are critical, I do call him for advice and counsel. Chief Obe and other Isoko patriots stood and continued to stand for Isoko to move forward.
“Yes, we must stay united and stay together. Thankfully, we have a Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who has been an apostle of peace and unity of the State.
“We must as leaders work for the unity and progress of Isoko, by God’s grace, Isoko nation is moving forward.
“I thank you, Chief Fred Obe for the struggle of Isoko interests you started and you continued to sustain. I want to assure you that the struggle you started, we will continue to be with you.
“Today is not day to talk of the infrastructure you brought to Isoko land. You have paid a sacrifice of which we continue to benefit from.”
The Isoko Federal lawmaker earlier, urged the people of Isoko to continue to support the Governor in his quest of advancing the State and consolidate on the legacy of the past administration.
Hon. Ukodhiko called for massive support for the Governor ahead of the 2027 general election, saying, “Our aspiration as Isoko sons and daughters, is to return the Governor by 2027.
“Within a short period of time as the Governor of our dear Delta State, our son-in-law, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has sited numerous projects worth billions of naira, here in Isoko.
“In Isoko, we have the votes and will continue to turn it out en mass for the Governor by 2027 for him to return to give us MORE infrastructural development and empowerment.”
The National Assembly member thanked Isoko Youth National Assembly led by the President, Comr. Eniwake Orogun, for organizing the event in celebration of Chief Fred Obe.
He reiterated his vision and commitment of a one united body of Isoko youths, stating, “one day, we will have one united body for our youths. We are working towards it and we will achieve it in our lifetime “ Hon. Ukodhiko said.
Present at the ceremony chaired by the member representing Isoko North Constituency, Hon Bernard Odior, were President-General of Isoko Development Union, Prof. Chris Akpotu and the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Sen. Joel Thomas Onowakpo and member representing Oshimili South Constituency, Hon. (Mrs) Bridget Anyafulu.
Prominent political figures were the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Delta South Senatorial District, Chief Emman Agbaduba, State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, Chairman, State Hospital Management Board, Dr Paul Oweh, Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor, Chief Mike Ogwah, Hon. Daniel Tutumor and member State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Minnie Igbrude.
